REVIEW: BELGRAVE VEGAN FEAST

Image
As soon as I saw the words "Belgrave Music Hall" and "Vegan Feast" on my Facebook timeline, I knew I had to go.  I walked in on Saturday and immediately I was overwhelmed by the amount of choice there was for food. Obviously, this was not surprising for an event labelled “vegan feast”, but normally we are not so spoiled for choice. Belgrave is such a cool place to eat, chill and drink, and they have a rooftop bar which is perfect for a summer’s day. Unfortunately, when I went, the weather was not so great, but downstairs is equally as pretty, so I didn’t really mind. I had a little walk around and checked out the stalls and as you can imagine choosing what to eat was very difficult. I knew I could not just buy ONE thing. If my bank account and summer body agreed with me, I would have eaten everything. I spotted Dough Boys and Patty Smith’s which are residents of Belgrave, but they also had some new stalls including Humpit, Dim Sum SU Stre...

5 EASY VEGAN LUNCHES

Image
I find lunch a really awkward meal. You don’t want to cook because you know you’ll be cooking for dinner, but you want more than just a sandwich or a salad. Well, I am here to save your day, (I hope). I have made a list of 5 of my favourite lunches which can be changed to suit your preferences, providing you with more options and a variety. Let’s get into it. SOUP I am starting off with a really simple and easy lunch idea. Essentially, you could just pop down to your local supermarket and buy a tin of your favourite (vegan) soup and that is just fine. Sainsbury’s do a really good vegan soup range, my favourites include the tomato and basil and their spicy tomato, lentil and red pepper soup. These retail at £1.25, so not too bad for a quick easy meal. (pics) Alternatively, you could make your own soup if you are feeling adventurous and have a little more time on your hands. I have a recipe for my butternut squash soup here , if you like a nice thick consistency in a soup. I a...

MY MUM'S HOMEMADE FIVE BEAN CHILLI

Image
I have recently just finished university for easter, and one of my favourite things about coming home is my mum's cooking. For a meat eater, who has never cooked vegan before I announced I was turning vegan a year and a half ago, she really does make the most amazing vegan meals. It is so nice to have a mum who is so supportive of my veganism and also makes sure the fridge is stocked up with vegan goodies, ready for me to come home during the holidays. So first of all, I would like to thank my mum for her support and her cooking. Second of all, I would like to thank my mum for allowing me to steal her recipe and publish it on my blog, passing it off as my own. You’re the best. Mum's homemade five bean chilli Instagram: emeatsvegan I posted a photograph of my vegan chilli on my Instagram, (emeatsvegan), a couple of days ago and I had a lot of questions about how I (my mum) made this. So rather than replying to my messages individually, I thought I would put it all in a ...
